Margaret Murray

Margaret Murray is one of the original founding lights of Grane Residents’ Association. She has volunteered many decades of her time and commitment as the Secretary, and more recently as Assistant Secretary, of GRAss. There can be no doubt that Margaret’s dedication has improved the lives of people and wildlife in Helmshore, Haslingden and Grane beyond measure.

This year, Margaret made the decision to step back from her Officer role and hand over responsibilities to “younger folk”.

Margaret is seen in the photographs being presented with a bouquet of flowers and gifts to show our appreciation for everything she has done over the years. Chairperson, Anna Parsons, made the Presentation at last night’s monthly GRAss meeting.

Margaret wishes to continue to support GRAss in any way she can and we are really grateful to have her staying on board.

Some people forget that local, ground-level groups like GRAss can only thrive with the kind support of local residents like Margaret. We welcome residents from Helmshore, Haslingden and Grane to our monthly meetings at The Holden Arms on the second Wednesday of every month.

Come along to a meeting and find out what sort of projects we are involved in - from supporting local defib installations; monitoring planning applications to planting flowers or “balsam bashing”. We look forward to meeting you and you might even get to meet Local Superstars like Margaret!
