Hello Residents of Grane Road and neighbors!

Throughout this year we’ve asked for volunteers to help run Grane Residents Association. Our small local group only works because of the time and goodwill of volunteers. We are grateful to those who have supported it over the years. The officer roles themselves are not overly time-consuming, but they are essential. Our constitution requires a minimum number of officers so that we can apply for community grants, access funding, and manage our accounts. Without a quorate committee, we cannot make key decisions or elect new members. Both our Chair and Secretary need to resign due to their increasing commitments at work and with family. This now means we urgently need new volunteers to take on officer roles. Without new officers, we will have no option but to dissolve GRAss. We do not want to see this happen. GRAss has been so influential over the many years since its conception. GRAss has been involved with projects such as: Assisting with the planting of Mary’s Wood; supporting community activities and celebrations (most recently St Stephen’s Centenary and the Grane Heritage Weekend); installing benches and planters across the area; challenging and holding to account planning and organizational decisions affecting our area; organized, funded, and maintained local defibrillators… and much more.

These achievements show what we can do together. But without your involvement, this work will stop.

There is power in numbers - WE NEED YOU!

If you can help—particularly as Secretary or Chair—please contact Liz Baker as soon as possible on sec@grass-online.co.uk before 30th November, 2025.  Training and support will be provided during a hand-over period.  Every contribution makes a difference. If no one comes forward, our next step will sadly be to dissolve the Association. That would mean the loss of a vital hub for residents to connect, share information, and have a voice in local decisions. Our next meeting is Wednesday 8th October at 7.15pm at the Robin Hood and our next Quiz Night is 14th November at 8pm also at the Robin Hood. Please come and join us. Thank you.
